GP brought 'dishonour' to profession: tribunal

A Sydney GP who unlawfully prescribed potentially deadly quantities of opiates to a patient has been banned from practising for three years.

Dr Ghee Hong Michael Tan's conduct was so “contemptible, outrageous and unethical” it had brought dishonour to the profession, the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal said in its decision on Friday after finding the former GP guilty of professional misconduct.
