GP cleared of attacking patients wins right to practise

A GP diagnosed with schizophrenia, who had previously been accused of indecently assaulting patients, has been granted the right to practise under strict conditions.

The doctor voluntarily surrendered his registration shortly after he was accused of the assaults on 18 patients and one employee between June and August 2012.

He was subsequently found not guilty by Queensland's Mental Health Court, which said he was of unsound mind at the time of the alleged offences.
