GP evacuates in face of record floods
On Thursday morning staff at Dr Les Woollard’s practice in Moree took the vaccinations out of the fridge, moved the computers to higher ground and put a notice on the answering machine saying the practice was closed for the next few days.
They are now waiting to see if the flood waters reach the predicted 35-year high.
The Mehi River near Moree is expected to swell to levels not seen since 1976 as the flooding in northwestern NSW continues.
Dr Woollard’s practice and home are on the north side of the river, which was evacuated on Thursday night.
