GP had sexual relations with receptionist
The doctor did not ordinarily treat mental health issues, but he began seeing his 20-year-old receptionist as a patient after she became troubled by a marital breakdown and the death of her grandfather.
During these consultations the woman said she sat on the doctor’s lap, where he “touched” her inappropriately. As well as supplying her with antidepressant medication and contraceptives, he wrote her a mental health plan and referred her to a psychologist.
In its ruling in December, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal found the doctor conducted an inappropriate relationship with his receptionist between August 2010 and September 2011.
