GP innovation goes global
IT ALL started when two Canberra GPs decided to take on one of medicine’s greatest challenges – doctors’ handwriting.
The result was MedChart, a software program that eliminated that unknown quantity from the healthcare equation, replacing it with a medication management system that can be easily accessed – and read – by all healthcare providers.
Almost two decades later, Dr John Ainge and Dr Dennis Armstrong are changing the way hospitals around the world are being run.
MedChart is about to take over the medication management systems of two large National Health Service trusts in the UK, with another two significant contracts in that country expected to follow. The e-health pioneers are also in talks with hospitals in Singapore.
The company is steadily growing its presence in Australia, where 10 hospitals are counted as clients.
