GP loses $360k obesity case
A GP has been told to pay $364,000 in compensation to a morbidly obese man after failing to refer him to a weight loss clinic or for bariatric surgery.
Luis Almario was 154cm tall and weighed around 130kg when he came under the care of Sydney GP Dr Emmanuel Varipatis in 1997.
