GP rebate boost to benefit older Australians
GENERAL practice has given a cautious tick of approval to the Productivity Commission’s report on aged care, saying moves to boost GP rebates will give older Australians better access to care.
While the government is still to decide which recommendations it will take up, the AMA and AGPN welcomed the report’s proposal to “review” the Medicare rebate for GP visits to aged care facilities or people in their homes.
