GP registrars take on teaching role

A new breed of young doctors passionate about teaching are finding their calling as registrar medical educators.

Dr Ashe Nicholas, a GP in Northern Queensland has been a registrar medical educator for 12 months, after first hearing about the new role through her regional training provider Tropical Medical Training.

“I was really excited to hear this opportunity existed,” she said. “I love general practice, but I’ve also always been interested in education, so for me this was the glove that fit.”
