GP sanctioned over patient overdose

A GP who became deeply and personally involved with a patient but then walked away from her when she overdosed on morphine has been sanctioned for "improper" and "careless" conduct.

WA's State Administrative Tribunal suspended Dr Felicity Wild of St Luke's GP Medical Group in Morley from practicing for three months and imposed conditions on her registration, including a ban on using prayer therapy.

In the case brought by the Medical Board of Australia, Dr Wild telephoned the female patient every night, travelled interstate with her,
