GP sued after parents stop giving their child insulin

A GP is being sued by the parents of a six-year-old with diabetes who died after they stopped insulin treatment on the advice of a "self-healing” workshop held in the rooms of his clinic. 


In 2015, the Tasly Healthpac Centre of Excellence in Integrative Medicine decided to rent rooms to Hongchi Xiao, an unregistered Chinese medicine practitioner who ran sessions on  'Paida Lajin', an alternative therapy that can involve slapping, stretching and fasting to remove toxins from the body.
