GP Supervisor costs under review

A Federal Government review of costs borne by GP supervisors has been welcomed by educators and registrars alike, who warn the government will not be able to continue relying on good will of the profession to train the hundreds of medical students, interns and registrars set to enter the system.

A GPET spokesperson last week confirmed the government had commissioned a review of the costs associated with the expansion of both the AGPT program to 1200 placements by 2015, and the PGPP program to 975 places from 2014.
