A GP and former co-op chair who prescribed diazepam and tramadol to a 13-year-old patient has been reprimanded and suspended for six months.

The Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal found the GP guilty of professional misconduct for his “clinically inappropriate” and “excessive” prescribing of drugs of dependence to eight patients of a general practice co-op in Melbourne’s inner west.
