GPs allegedly underpaid vision-impaired staffer

The Fair Work Ombudsman is prosecuting the operators of a medical practice in Sydney, alleging a young vision-impaired receptionist was discriminated against on the grounds of her disability and underpaid a total of $20,847 between 2009 and 2012.

The employee, aged 18 to 21 at the time, suffers vision impairment caused by retina detachment and cataracts.
