GPs are leading the way in the community

Throughout my general practice professional life, it has always been apparent to me that GPs are leaders in their communities, wherever in this vast country that may be.

This has been resoundingly endorsed during the recent flood and natural disasters that have affected so much of Australia in recent months.

GPs have relocated their practices overnight, conducted consultations from homes or community halls and treated a vast array of physical, emotional and mental health issues that have arisen.

The RACGP is keen to assist GPs as they continue their important work, rebuilding their practices and supporting their communities.

To help with this, the College has developed a number of useful resources to assist general practices and their communities and link them with a myriad of diverse supports in testing times. These include general practice and patient fact sheets, as well as useful links.
