GPs defend certifying dead in car parks

A doctor has defended the common practice of funeral homes bringing GPs dead bodies to view in car parks and back lanes to sign death or cremation certificates, after funeral directors claimed it was "grossly inappropriate" and "disgusting".
Stories of time-strapped GPs signing off on the deceased in public places made headlines last week, with examples cited in the Hunter region of NSW.
