GPs should ask nurses to assist in telehealth

ACRRM advice to rural GPs has suggested some practitioners were delaying their move into telehealth consultations because they were not aware the MBS allowed them to deputise a practice nurse to assist patients during videoconference consultations with specialists.

The item, number 10983, relates to a “service by a practice nurse... provided on behalf of, and under the supervision of, a medical practitioner that requires the provision of clinical support to a patient”.
