GPs taking on more cancer survivor care

The growing number of people surviving cancer due to major treatment advances is adding to the burden of primary care, according to an Australian researcher.

Traditionally the remit of secondary care, there is an increasing realisation that GPs will take on a greater share of the management of cancer survivors, said Dr David Weller, an Australian GP based at the University of Edinburgh, UK.
