GPs urged to ignore Bayer's pill advice

GPs should continue to advise women to start the combined oral contraceptive pill with an active pill on day 1-5 of their cycle, an expert says.

Dr Deborah Bateson, speaking on behalf of Sexual Health and Family Planning Australia (SHFPA), said women who followed these instructions did not need to use alternative contraception, in keeping with the organisation's guidelines.
