GPs urged not to abandon e-mental health tools

GPs are being urged to keep an “open mind” on the benefits from online mental health programs after a UK study found they had little benefit.

The RACGP has told Australian Doctor that the negative results of a large, randomised controlled trial study published this week in the BMJ are a reminder to GPs to be judicious over which patients with depression or anxiety may best respond to self-guided online CBT programs.
