GPs warned against hospital clinic work

A row over Queensland Health's acute primary care clinics has deepened, with AMA Queensland warning doctors not to take part in the hospital-based centres due to fears over Medicare billing liability.

AMAQ issued the advice in its Doctor Q magazine this month, saying Queensland Health had failed to confirm it would indemnify doctors against potential breaches of Medicare rules at the clinics - a claim rubbished by the department.
