Guild bewildered by ‘North Korea’ deregulation story

The Pharmacy Guild has dismissed as “spurious” and “bewildering” an international news service story that described Australia’s pharmacy regulation as symptomatic of the country’s apparent inability to reform its economy.

The story, which was carried by finance service Bloomberg, declared that “futile attempts to regulate the sale of codeine despite addiction risks, illustrates the power of the pharmacy lobby”.
