Haikerwal second World Medical Association term

Dr Haikerwal, a former AMA president and clinical lead at the National E-Health Transition Authority (NEHTA), was elected unopposed earlier this month.

“The WMA has established itself as a good vehicle for progressing health and healthcare internationally, in particular from an ethics framework and in how it impacts the social and medical needs of people around the world,” Dr Haikerwal told MO.

“Sitting on a group like that, Australia has a great opportunity to participate, contribute and in many ways lead.”
