Handshakes banned: what would you do?

An opinion piece in one of the world's leading journals is calling for a ban on doctors shaking hands with patients, to prevent the spread of infections.

US experts, writing in the Journal of the American Medical Association, argue that shaking hands is fuelling antibiotic resistance and putting lives at risk.

Instead, they suggest designating “handshake-free zones” and bowing, waving or even using the Asian 'Namaste' gesture.
