Harvey claims Souvenaid ‘uses food loophole’

The warning from La Trobe University adjunct associate professor Dr Ken Harvey came after the TGA referred his complaint about Souvenaid, a drink said to improve memory in mild Alzheimer’s disease, to the NSW Food Authority.

Dr Harvey said Souvenaid meets the definition of a therapeutic good, with marketing claims including “nutritionally supports memory function in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease” and “clinically proven”.
