Having a ball juggling two roles and studies

DR GEORGA Cooke has found a way to have the best of both worlds – and now the GPET/MO Registrar of the Year nominee is showing others how to do it, too.

Dr Cooke is the current GPET registrar research and development officer (RRADO), a role she juggles while also working as a Bond University senior teaching fellow GP registrar, as well as finishing her training through Central and Southern Qld Training Consortium.

It’s a workload that certainly keeps her busy, but as she explained to MO while running between meetings, that’s fine by her. 

“I have had a ball so far,” Dr Cooke said. 

“I completed an academic post last year and I really enjoyed that, so when the opportunity came up to take on the RRADO position for 12 months I jumped at it.”

The job requires Dr Cooke to organise and run workshops for other registrars undertaking academic posts, and provides a counter-balance to
