Health reform promises starting to take shape

FOUR years ago, the Rudd Government promised to take us on a bold health reform journey that would – among other things – result in a healthcare system that made disease prevention a top priority.

To its credit, the Government embarked on a lengthy – some might say laborious – consultation and reform process. 

Consultations are now over, and the National Preventative Health Taskforce report has been written, the recommendations have been considered, and decisions have been made. Work is now underway on delivery.
