History-making doctor struck off for sexual assault

A DOCTOR who made history by becoming the first person from Papua New Guinea to qualify at an Australian medical school has been struck off for indecently assaulting a patient.

The Civil and Administrative Tribunal heard that in May 2013 Dr Wilson Pakalu, 37, touched the clitoris of a female patient for almost a minute, apparently in an attempt to promote “natural lubrication” before endeavouring to locate her Mirena string.

When this strategy was unsuccessful he agreed to use a commercial product as requested by the patient.
