HIV home-testing kits to be sold in pharmacies

Minister for Health Peter Dutton has announced the removal of restrictions on the sale of HIV home-testing kits in Australia, in a bid to increase early diagnosis of the virus.

As reported in the Sydney Morning Herald, Mr Dutton said that manufacturers of the home-testing kits could apply to the TGA for approval to distribute the products, which could then be directly sold to consumers, including through pharmacies.
