HIV strategy requires more GP prescribers

More GPs are needed to sign up for Section 100 antiretroviral prescribing powers, according to an ambitious new national HIV strategy that puts primary care in the lead role for combating the virus.

The shortage of GPs able to prescribe antiretrovirals was cause for great concern as the Federal Government's new National HIV strategy was presented at the International AIDS conference in Melbourne on Tuesday.
