The anti-inflammatory effects of a protein in hookworm spit could pave the way for an effective IBD treatment, say Australian scientists.

Professor Alex Loukas discovered the protein’s anti-inflammatory benefit during a follow-up to his recently published study that shows patients with coeliac disease are able to consume gluten foods after being fed with hookworms.
