Hospital baby death families receive compo payout

The families of two babies who died at Bacchus Marsh Hospital as a result of clinical and governance failures have been compensated.

Kathryn Booth, a principal at legal firm Maurice Blackburn, said the two families represented by the company received settlements in relation to their stillborn babies at the regional Victorian hospital.

Last year, a review into the deaths of 10 babies at Djerriwarrh Health Services between 2013 and 2014 found seven of the deaths could have been avoided.
