Hospital bills dead patient 535 days later

The latest embarrassment from the NSW cancer care units, run in conjunction by Westmead and Nepean hospitals, comes after MO exclusively revealed Westmead Hospital took 756 days to write a follow-up to a patient’s doctor, in which time the patient had died of unrelated causes.

It also comes more than four months after NSW Health Minister Jillian Skinner ordered that hospital to hire more staff and gave it three weeks to clear the three-year typing backlog that had led to the massive delay.
