How CWH boosted sales by $20 million in 24 hours

Chemist Warehouse has rung up over $20 million in sales during a 24-hour Chinese online shopping extravaganza.

The discount chain was one of the top-ranking overseas vendors of during 11.11 Global Shopping Festival staged by the Alibaba Group.

The annual shopping frenzy on November 11 involved tens of thousands of merchants in 253 countries and regions completing cross-border transactions worth $23 billion.

Chemist Warehouse’s chief operating officer, Mario Tascone, said his company beat its 2015 sales record, thanks to furious consumer demand for products by Blackmores, Swisse and The Goat Soap range.

The company sold $2 million worth of stock in the first 13.35 minutes of the event, he said.

Melbourne pharmacist and The Goat Soap founder Danielle Di Pilla was one of the big winners, raking in over $1 million with over 350,000 products in the 24-hour sale, according to reports by News
