How did this GP clinic handle a serial defecator on its doorstep?

With compassion and a public appeal to encourage the young woman to seek medical help, says CEO Melita Markey.

The first time it happened, staff at a GP clinic decided a human poo on their doorstep was a one-off number two.

But when the person emptied their bowels four times on their entry way in a matter of months, the clinic based in Perth went public.

The first incident had occurred in December last year, with the clinic’s practice manager confronted by a pile of human faeces on the rampway as she arrived for work.

She arranged for a council biohazard team to clean up the mess before opening up the clinic, which is part of the Asbestos Diseases Society of Australia,
