How heart disease differs in men and women

Until recently, clinical trials for heart disease tended to be biased towards men. And yet women’s experience of illness, and responses to therapeutic interventions are often substantially different.

In a viewpoint published in JAMA, researchers note that doctors get “minimal formal instruction about such sex differences, yet incorporation of sex-specific information into clinical practice will improve patient care”.
