HPV vax rate increases to 80% of girls

Immunisation experts have welcomed a rise in HPV vaccine coverage, with latest figures showing 79% of girls aged 15 were fully immunised against the virus in 2014/15.

However, some areas are still lagging, with regions such as Tasmania showing coverage rates of just 67.2% for girls and the NT having only 56.5% of boys vaccinated, according to a report from the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare.
