HPV vax uptake low for adult women

Uptake of HPV vaccination is low among adult women, an Australian study finds, but experts are unconvinced GPs should try to boost it.

Just 2% of women aged 27-45 who visited their GP between 2007 and 2010 commenced HPV vaccination, Monash University researchers found.

Unsurprisingly, these rates were far lower than in women aged 12-26 — the groups targeted by the Federal Government’s vaccination programme.
