IBS test could end unnecessary colonoscopies

Thousands of patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) could avoid unnecessary colonoscopies if the MBS funded a simple stool test that can accurately rule out inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), gastroenterologists say.
