IMGs at higher risk of complaint

International medical graduates from some countries are up to four times more likely to face formal complaints than Australian-trained doctors, a study finds, prompting calls for more rigorous mentoring and support.

The study, published in the Medical Journal of Australia, found IMGs from seven countries — Nigeria, Egypt, Poland, Russia, Pakistan, the Philippines and India — attracted the highest complaint rates.
