Inactivity ‘deadlier than obesity’

A brisk 20-minute walk each day does wonders for longevity, according to the findings of a large European study.

Researchers looked at the effects of obesity and exercise on 334,161 men and women whose progress was followed for 12 years.

They found that twice as many deaths may be attributable to inactivity than obesity, but that just a modest increase in physical activity has significant health benefits.
