Policies announced recently by the Andrews’ government represent an important opportunity for pharmacists to improve the health of consumers in Victoria.

In 2016, legislative changes will enable pharmacists to administer flu vaccines to healthy adults (with approval to administer whooping cough vaccinations following in 2017), will establish  a two-year Pharmacist Chronic Disease Management pilot program which will see pharmacists and GPs collaborating to help patients manage chronic disease, and will establish the state’s first government assisted 24-hour, 7-day-a-week
