Insoles no use in knee osteoarthritis

Angular insoles do nothing to ease pain in knee osteoarthritis, a comprehensive overview of the research demonstrates.

A meta-analysis concluded there were "no significant or clinically important effects of laterally wedged insoles on knee pain", when analysing high-quality trials that used an appropriate comparison group.

Wedge insoles are intended to reduce medial loading on the knee by shifting a person's weight to the lateral knee compartment.
