Interpol and FDA move to shut down thousands of illegal script sites

Interpol and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have joined forces with other international authorities to shut down 4402 websites that illegally sell potentially dangerous, unapproved prescription drugs, the FDA has announced.

Going under the banner Operation Pangea IX, the Interpol-led global co-operative effort ran from 31 May to 7 June, sending formal complaints to domain registrars to shut down the thousands of sites following FDA and US Customs inspection of mail facilities.
