Issues with mobile glucose test
Roche Diabetes Care, in conjunction with the TGA, is advising there may be potential for incorrect results with its Accu-Chek Mobile glucose tests, if users are also taking a commonly used antibiotic.
Ceftriaxone, a broad-range antibiotic used to treat a variety of common infections, has been found to interfere with the way in which blood glucose is measured by the device, and may lead to incorrect readings.
Roche is advising consumers of this issue, and will be updating the labelling of the devices.
