Surveillance data provides reassurance for common practice

The first data confirming the safety of concomitant administration of MenB and MenACWY vaccines has been welcomed as “great news” for immunisation prescribers.


Dr Alan Leeb, a WA GP and director of the SmartVax surveillance platform, says GPs have been delivering the vaccines together for quite some time, on the ‘first principles’ advice of the Australian Immunisation Handbook.

“The biggest issue is that we’ve not had this sort of safety data before,” he told the Public Health Association of Australia's National Immunisation Conference in Adelaide on
