Just cruising

I RECENTLY discovered the truth in the cliché, ‘the journey is more important than the destination’, while sailing in the Whitsundays with an eclectic group of people – my extended family.

Our posse included my five-month-old niece, who had spent barely a day on dry land since her birth; my own two city-dwelling primary-schoolers, one of whom wobbles with seasickness in a foot-high swell; four 30-somethings; two 60-somethings and a Maltese dog who can hold her bladder for a staggering 13 hours until she can get to shore.
