‘Keep them on’: Doctors welcome students’ helping hand in ED

Emergency doctors have applauded a scheme paying medical students to work as assistants, saying it frees them to see more patients, reduces stress and makes a shift more enjoyable.

For over two years, final year medical students in NSW have been working as so-called Assistants in Medicine (AiM) as part of the COVID-19 surge workforce.
