Kids cost mum GPs $100k in pay

Mum GPs earn $100,000 less than dad GPs - a gap that's nearly twice the average Australian salary - a new study has revealed.

Furthermore, while having children dealt a blow to female doctors' wages, it boosted the pay packets of male GPs by $35,000 on average through a ‘breadwinner effect, where they increase productivity to provide for their children.
