Labor, Coalition cross swords over donations

DONATIONS to political parties are again being questioned, with both sides of NSW politics trading barbs over their track records for accepting donations.

Parliamentary Secretary for Health Dr Andrew McDonald yesterday called on Opposition Leader Barry O'Farrell to "come clean" on tobacco company donations to the NSW Liberal Party.

"Barry O'Farrell continued to sneakily accept $46,200 in donations from British American Tobacco before amendments to electoral laws banned donations from tobacco companies in January this year," Dr McDonald said in a statement
