Lack of mental health services will see spike in homeless, prisoners

Using the backdrop of World Mental Health Day today, the Mental Illness Fellowship of Australia (MIFA) today said it estimates more than 100,000 Australians with serious mental illness are missing out on essential support services.? These include clinical services such as counselling, prescription of medication and health check-ups, as well as access to stable housing, employment and transport.

MIFA announced it is to open 120 ‘shopfront’ locations across the country to give people suffering from mental illness easier access to services and local support
